I removed the screensaver but it still prompts me about ordering?
The .scr file was not removed.  For Windows XP, Me and 2000 go to the C:\Windows\System32 folder and manaully delete the .scr file

For Windows 95, 98 go to the C:\Windows\System folder and manaully delete the .scr file

For example, if removing AquaSupreme delete the file AquaSupreme.scr from the C:\Windows\System

Power Management Compatibility
For Windows XP we are working on compatibility for all screensavers.  At this time some screensavers have been updated and we are still working on getting them all complete   Back

Did not receive serial number?
Our system automatically sends two emails to the address you submitted.  If you did not receive these emails then either the address was mistyped or the email bounced.  Email us to get the emails resent.  If you did receive these emails then please read them.

Screensaver is not listed in the screensaver list box?
You need to do installed the screensaver... just downloading it will not be enough.  Install the screensaver by double-clicking the file you downloaded. You can download from our website

Can't download from your listed links?
Possible problem:
We test these links daily so in 99% of the cases it has to do with your browser and Internet connection.  It can also be related to traffic or that you caught us updating.  Try again.  Also, unless you wish to clear your History and Temp. Internet Files, you may need to wait a day for the error message you are receiving to exit from your memory (cache) .Please report these links.  IF YOU HAVE REPEATED FAILURES    CONTACT US

How do I make the password work?
Passwords work only for Win XP operating system.  Much like Micorsoft is doing, we as well have stopped developing and supporting older operating systems.    Back

Password keeps prompting me
Possible problem:
(For our older versions) There are two areas where the password option is set.  The first is in Control Panel > Display > Screensavers tab and is located directly beneath the screensaver list box.  Make sure this box is unchecked.  The second place is in the same area except click the SETTINGS button to the right of the screensaver listbox.  Within the control box that opens you will see the password option.  If neither of these are checked try simply reinstalling the screensaver.      Back

Icons get shuffled around after the screensaver runs
We have tested and retested to duplicate this problem and we cannot.   Try auto arranging the icons.  Right-click on the desktop and click Arrange     Back

The screensaver stops after a certain amount of time?
Most likley cause is you have the energy saving feature enabled on your computer.  This can be Hibernate, Shut Monitor Off, Turn Off Hard Drive, ect.   Our newer versions allow you to ignore or accept this, but only for Win XP users.
We are working on updating ALL of our screensavers for this.
    Back

I am getting a blank (black) screen?
The only way we can replicate this problem is by removing DirectX from our computer then running the screensaver:
Most likely you do not have DirectX installed or it is not installed properly.  Check to make sure you have DirectX or download it now.  Download DirectX

Other Possibility:  Machine not properly installing the registry file for the screensaver.  This happens with Non-Intel chips such as AMD and Cyrix.   Make sure you have the newest version of the screensaver. If this still happens with the newest version then email us
Back

FireGL video card problem
In the past, it has been brought to our attention that the FireGL video card is defective.  The manufacturer continually post updates in an attempt to fix it.  If you have this card then more than likely this is your problem.  We have not had reports for some time now so they may have fixed whatever was wrong.
Back

Screensaver will not come on when it is supposed to or stays on when the Monitor goes to sleep.
Possible problem:
Check to make sure all energy saving devices such as suspend mode have been turned off.  Our newer versions are developed to accept Power Management to where you should not have to do anything. The absence of a Power Manage tab will tell if the screensaver you have is a newer version. Not all of been updated    Back

Unable to register Tego[x].ocx
Possible problem:

If you do have DirectX try downloading these files and place then in the C:\Windows\System folder

Runtime Error 13
Our newest versions should stop this error from happening.  First step is to make sure you have newest versions of the screensavers.

We still do not know why this happens on certain computers. It could be logging on under different names.

Look in the screensavers folder which will be C:\NexusMedia\ScreenSaver_Name for the .reg file and double-click it to record the registry then try running again.

Error 1721: Windows Installer Error
We use the Micorsoft Windows Installer and it is a far-from-perfect installer.  With that said here is a link to the Microsoft site and a list of error messages --  CLICK HERE     Back

Here is what we have been able to get for Error 1721 Windows Installer
This error is related to the Microsoft Installer.
The reason Microsoft and InstallShield has given us as to why you would get this error is that a file has been removed, the Feedback.exe file.  This file needs to be replaced.  (This usually happens if you try to manaully delete the screensaver rather than using the Add/Remove Programs feature)

Download the Feedback.exe file here
This file needs to be in the screensavers folder, for example, if the error is coming from Halloween Haunts then download to:  C:\NexusMedia\HHaunt folder

If you no longer have this folder, then you need to create it.

Once you have downloaded the Feedback.exe file to the correct folder then use the uninstall feature.   Back

Error: Need monitor capable of 64 k colors
Possible problem: You have your color setting set to 256 colors or below.  These screensavers use higher color quality than 256 so you will need to set your color setting to 16-Bit (High Color) or Higher

(This may be a problem with an out of date video driver. Go to your computer manufacturers website and download the latest video driver for your computer)

Why doesn't the screensaver start on its own?

  • If your web browser (e.g., Internet Explorer or Netscape) is open to a page that has a changing image (a banner ad or a webcam image, for example), Windows will believe that it is not idle. If Windows believes it is not idle, it will not start a screensaver. Try closing the web browser or minimizing it.
  • This can occur if Microsoft Outlook Express or Microsoft Outlook 98 Internet Mail Only installation is configured to automatically check for new messages in a period of time that is shorter than the period of time that the screensaver is configured to start. For example, this behavior can occur if Outlook Express or Outlook is configured to automatically check for new messages after 5 minutes, and the screensaver is configured to start after 10 minutes. To work around this issue, configure the screensaver to start in a period of time that is shorter than the period of time that Outlook Express or Outlook is configured to automatically check for new messages.
  • System screensaver may not work correctly with McAfee's Anti-Virus program installed. It may not come on at all.....or immediately shut off. This problem will only occur with McAfee's Anti-Virus Program installed. Follow these steps to fix the problem. Go to Start---Settings---Control Panel---Display. Under Display Properties there's a tab called ScreenScan. Uncheck the ScreenScan box.
  • If you click on the Start button and open the Start Menu, the screensaver can't start while the Start Menu is open.
  • If you regularly run DOS programs in Windows, check the Properties menu of those programs. There is a box on the Misc tab that, if checked, won't allow screensavers to start while the DOS program is running.
  • If you are running a DOS program full-screen, the screensaver may not start.
  • When the screensaver is about to start, Windows asks the application currently in the foreground if it is happy to let the screensaver start. If the application wishes, the screensaver will not start." Check the documentation of the programs that are running to see if they will not allow the screensaver to start.

I get a Black screen when the screensaver is on?
You need to install the latest version of Microsoft Windows Media Player. Click on the link below to go to Microsoft's website where you can download it.

Why are some transitions jerky or slow?
Our screensavers come with over twenty different transitions. If some of the transitions appear jerky or slow, the most likely cause is your hardware. Transitions can require significant processing power and memory. Some video cards may not be able to run the transitions as quickly and smoothly as possible. The easiest solution is to select only those transitions that you want. You can do this in the screensaver settings. To get there, open the Display properties in the Control Panel, select the Screen Saver tab, click on the Settings... button next to the name of the screensaver, and then select the Transitions tab. Place a check next to the transitions you want. You may need to experiment to find the optimal combination of transitions.

Why doesn't the "Hot Corners" feature work?
This feature only works in Windows 95, not Windows 98 due to a bug that Microsoft has not yet resolved. To use this feature in Windows 95, you must have Microsoft Plus! installed, and System Agent must be running. To activate System Agent, click the Start button, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Agent. When you are prompted to confirm whether you want to run System Agent, click Yes.
